In this video, I will show how to simply implement the scheme of pre-charging the capacitors in the inverter. Since high-capacity capacitors are installed at the input of the inverter for connecting the battery, connecting the inverter to the battery will cause significant currents to flow. As a result - burning of contacts (machine or circuit breaker), overloading of BMS transistors, or tripping of overcurrent protection in BMS. Some BMS already have a built-in pre-discharge function. But not all BMS, and even in this case, I advise you to install an additional own circuit for precharging the capacitors. When we press the button, voltage is supplied to the inverter and the capacitors are smoothly charged with current limitation through the resistor. The LED will show when the capacitors are charged - the LED will go out and you can turn on the machine or the circuit breaker directly, without limiting the current. If the LED does not go out, this may indicate that there is a short circuit at the input of the inverter and this may lead to the failure of the BMS board, or the final failure of the inverter and it is not possible to supply voltage to the inverter without limiting the current. Additional control that everything is fine with the inverter and that the polarity of the inverter (+/-) is connected correctly. You can use an incandescent lamp, but if you want, you can make a more stationary and universal solution.
