Rangers v GKS Katowice - Uefa Cup 1988

Rangers met GKS Katowice in the first round of the Uefa Cup in 1988 and went through 5-2 on aggregate. In a tight first leg at Ibrox a late Mark Walters goal was enough to send Rangers to Poland with a slight lead against the counter-attacking Poles. In the second leg, although Rangers conceded through a early free kick, two Terry Butcher headers put them ahead before half-time and even though Katowice equalised, two late goals were enough to give Rangers a comfortable win.
