Martha and the Muffins Boy Without Filters HQ with Lyrics in Description

Track 4 from their third album "This is the Ice Age" released in 1981 copyright Virgin/EMI Records. Keyboardist and songwriter Martha Ladly left the band after the last album, as did their great bassist Carl Finkle. The band recruited the very capable Jocelyne Lanois from Hull, Quebec on bass and Martha Johnson handled the keyboards. Jocelyne's brother Daniel was a musician in his own right and had also worked as a producer since the mid-seventies. This album is notable as one of Daniel Lanois' best early efforts as a producer and his talent and skill are noticeable from the first notes. He was recognized for it and his popularity grew until he was producing albums for the biggest artists including U2, Peter Gabriel and even Bob Dylan. The album has received excellent reviews in retrospect but at the time sales weren't great. The single "Women Around the World at Work" reached No. 24 in Canada. Written by Mark Gane and produced by Daniel Lanois & Martha and the Muffins.
