FlySky 2.4GHz Long-Range Radio - FRM302 and FTR16S

Support my work   / pawelspychalski   We think Long-Range, we say Crossfire and 868/951Mhz. But not always it was like that and 900Mhz band and Crossfire is not the only answer to the long-range RC radio. 2.4GHz LoRa based ImmersionRC Ghost is getting a lot of attention, for example. Today I have FlySky FRM302 module and FlySky FTR16S receiver on my desk. This FlySky (yes, FlySky not FrSky) hardware uses the same underlying technology as Crossfire: LoRa modulation with Semtech SX12xx family of RF chipsets. Only instead of using 868/900MHz, it is 2.4GHz. In this video, let's take a look at the hardware and do the FlySky FRM302 teardown.
