Understanding how a shock absorbing lanyard works
In this test, we demonstrate the deployment of a 2-metre shocking lanyard from a 2-metre fall, then redo the test with the same lanyard. The dummy weighs 100kg (220 lbs). These tests were engineered to give you a visual reference for how the shock-absorbing lanyard deploys. A lanyard must be decommissioned immediately if the shock absorber has been deployed. Never reuse a lanyard that has sustained an impact.
