Puerto de Chancay y sus efectos en Chile: "Va a poner en riesgo nuestra economía"

The opening of the port of Chancay in Peru could have an impact on the Chilean economy, especially on the port sector and trade with Asia. If Chilean companies choose to use the port of Chancay in Peru as their main connection point with Asia, this could reduce demand on Chilean ports. This could affect economic activity and revenue generated by Chilean ports, as well as the associated logistics and transportation industry. In this new edition of Interviews with Tomás Mosciatti, we spoke with Caupolicán Guerra, an academic at the Faculty of Engineering of UNAB Viña del Mar, who stated that “When we talk about the daily cost, we are, of course, referring to the payment for port access, ship maintenance, fuel, lubricants, fees, and the provision of funds for any other needs. So, these ships have a cost of between 35 and 40 thousand dollars per day.
