The traditional San Salvador Post Parade kicks off El Salvador's August festivities. This parade is one of the largest and most important in El Salvador. This parade marks the beginning of the patron saint festivities in honor of the Divine Savior of the World, patron saint of El Salvador, whose feast day is celebrated on August 6, the Day of the Transfiguration of the Lord. The post parade is characterized by a lively atmosphere, featuring student bands, folk dances, ornate floats, and numerous fireworks.
