Summer Is Like Christmas... Except It Lasts Three Months

Most women don't need a bigger summer. They need a different question. What if the reason summer feels disappointing has nothing to do with where you go, what you own, or who invites you? What if the secret to a memorable season is much smaller, and much easier to create, than we've been led to believe? Every July, social media serves up the same picture-perfect fantasy: Cape Cod cottages, lake cabins, family reunions, grandchildren with sparklers, and sunsets that belong in a magazine. And if you're on your own, it's easy to wonder if everyone else has discovered the formula for a beautiful summer except you. In this week's episode, I share the surprising realization that changed the way I'm approaching this season entirely. We talk about loneliness, anticipation, picnics for one, Boston fireworks, England, gardens, books, old friends, and why the most memorable summers rarely come from buying something new. They come from participating more fully in the life you already have. If you've ever caught yourself waiting for summer to happen, I think this conversation may feel like a breath of fresh air. And when you're finished, I'd love to hear your answer to one simple question: What would make this summer memorable for you?
