At the first Mass celebrated by a new priest, Father Thouvenot reminded everyone that the Holy Mass is the same sacrifice as that of the Cross, the only act capable of rendering to God the honor that is due Him and of communicating divine life to souls. The priest is first and foremost the man of the Mass, consecrated to offer this sacrifice, to give Christ in the Eucharist, and to lead souls to salvation. In a time of apostasy and confusion, he is called to remain faithful to the mystery of faith, to live a life of priestly holiness, and to entrust himself to the Blessed Virgin Mary in order to bear abundant apostolic fruits.
