So many people focus on commands first, but connection always comes before obedience. We teach our puppies that looking to people is rewarding. Eye contact builds engagement, confidence, focus, and creates a puppy that naturally wants to work with you instead of simply following commands. In today’s session, Teddy practices checking in, offering eye contact, and learning “sit” through calm guidance and connection-based training. These little moments may seem simple, but they become the foundation for better manners, easier training, and stronger lifelong relationships.
