Jacksonian Era : Democracy and the Mob

Andrew Jackson began a new era in US politics when he won the 1828 election. Jacksonianism or opposition to it defined the second party system for the next couple decades, forming the Democratic and Whig Parties. They quarreled over tariffs, American economic school, national bank, expansion, imperialism, and nullification.
