The Truth About Life After Bariatric Surgery - Vlog 001

Welcome to the very first video on Gaybriel Knows Nothing. This channel is partly a vlog, partly a creative experiment, and mostly an excuse for me to learn video editing before my podcast, Bare Belief, moves from audio to video. But instead of practicing with boring files, I figured I might as well talk about my actual life. In this first video, I introduce myself: a middle-aged gay man living in Montréal, figuring things out one video at a time. I talk about my Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery, losing 135 pounds, gaining some of the weight back through strength training, and what it feels like to live in a body that has changed so dramatically. I also get into the parts of bariatric surgery that don’t always get talked about: body image, loose skin, health changes, how differently people treat you after weight loss, and the strange mental adjustment of looking in the mirror and not always recognizing yourself. Future videos may include food, fitness, life after bariatric surgery, sewing projects, gaming, travel, cats, and whatever else I feel like learning how to edit. Basically: I’m Gaybriel, and I know nothing. But I’m figuring it out. If you have questions or ideas for future videos, leave them in the comments. And yes, you may also get cat content. #GaybrielKnowsNothing #BariatricSurgery #GastricBypass #WeightLossJourney #LifeAfterBariatricSurgery #Vlog #MontrealYouTuber
