The McLaren F1 Falls from #1 to #8 -- Rubber Tire Quarter Mile Complete | Peak Speed Lab 1:64
The full Rubber Tire Short Form Top 10 has now completed the 1:64 Scale Quarter Mile Drag Strip. The order changed dramatically. Almost nothing stayed in place. The McLaren F1 has held the #1 Rubber Tire position on the Short Form Drag Strip since nearly the beginning of this lab. At the speed gate it averaged 3.940 MPH -- 252 scale MPH. That is #8 in the Rubber Tire Quarter Mile standings. The fastest rubber tire car on the Short Form is the eighth fastest at sustained top speed. Not a small drop. A collapse. The 2026 Chevrolet NASCAR holds #1 on the Quarter Mile at 6.097 MPH and 390 scale MPH -- the only Rubber Tire car that was faster on the Quarter Mile than on the Short Form relative to its peers. It was #2 on the Short Form. It owns the top spot at the speed gate. The two Mini GT Porsche 911s -- the 992 Carrera S and the Turbo S -- jumped from #9 and #10 on the Short Form all the way to #2 and #3 on the Quarter Mile at 5.460 MPH and 5.330 MPH respectively. They were the slowest two of the group on the Short Form. They are the second and third fastest at sustained speed. The Datsun 620 Pick Up Truck is the only car that held its exact position -- #4 on the Short Form, #4 on the Quarter Mile. The Nissan Skyline 2000GT-R LBWK finished last at 3.550 MPH with a spread of 1.020 MPH across its three runs -- the widest spread of the session by a significant margin. The Short Form and the Quarter Mile are not measuring the same thing. The Rubber Tire category just made that clearer than any group of cars has so far. Protocol: Cook's Projects Race Gate, single lane, no warm-up, 3 official runs per car, averaged for MPH and KPH. Scale speed = actual MPH x 64.
