Dry Fly Heaven: Brook Trout, Redbands & a 100-Foot Waterfall

There are few things I enjoy more than following a small mountain creek wherever it leads. In this video, I work my way upstream along one of my favorite creeks near Bend, Oregon, deep in the Deschutes National Forest, fly fishing for both wild brook trout and beautiful Oregon redband rainbow trout. After giving up on a Royal Wulff, I ended up fishing a single dry fly—a Stubby Chubby—I was fortunate to find willing fish throughout the day while enjoying some of the most scenic water Central Oregon has to offer. The real reward, however, was the destination. At the very end of the journey, the creek ends at the base of a spectacular waterfall with nearly a 100-foot drop. It made for an unforgettable finish to an already incredible day on the water.
