Ponte monumentale Pio IX di Ariccia: la storia e i lavori
This video focuses on the history of the monumental Pius IX Bridge and the structural consolidation and conservation work carried out by Anas (National Roads Authority) following an agreement with the Municipality of Ariccia. The work, which began in March 2021, involved the structures of the piers and arches, as well as the road deck. Specifically, structural consolidation work was carried out, as well as restoration of the external surfaces and, finally, the demolition and reconstruction of the road deck slab. A new road surface was also installed, adapting the platform to accommodate a new water drainage system. The historic monumental bridge of Ariccia was commissioned by Pope Pius IX, from whom it takes its name, and was first built in 1847 based on a design by architect Giuseppe Bartolini. The work carried out by Anas was necessary to protect a highly valuable infrastructure and an important link between the Castelli Romani area and the capital, ensuring greater durability of the structure over time.
