Electric multiple-unit trains ED4 were built from 1996 to 2015 in Demikhovo town. For almost 20 years, 500 trains of various modifications have been built - ED4, ED4M, ED4MK, ED4MKU, ED4M, ED4E ... They are new, but they are, in fact, a deep modernization of the very first electric sections of the S series, which opened the section Moscow - Mytishchi in 1929. A new exterior and interior are wonderful, but, however, the contactor current control, a collector motor, a vestibule salon not intended for carrying baby strollers and bicycles - all this ED4M carried through decades. After all... perfection does not require changes? In this video, I will clearly show why ED4Ms are bad from the point of view of a passenger with limited mobility, and I will also suggest how this can be fixed almost for free.
