Diese 5 Operationen würde ich als Arzt NICHT bei mir machen lassen - bzw. nicht ohne Zweitmeinung

As a doctor in a hospital, I see necessary, often life-saving surgeries every day. But there are also procedures that you should think twice about. My goal isn't to scare people – it's to educate them. Here are five procedures I would recommend to everyone: Get a second opinion and ask your doctor: "Would you let yourself do this?" ⏩ Get informed first, then supplement: Feel free to take a look at my guides https://bit.ly/RatgeberHowTo ✅ ❎ 100% independent ❎ 100% study-based ❎ 100% medically accurate 00:00 | 5 surgeries I DON'T perform as a doctor 01:52 | Is it really always the demonized discs? 05:52 | What is the cause, what is the solution? 09:51 | Fat gone and problems solved? 13:00 | More show than substance? 15:38 | Quick shortcut or last resort? #surgery #medicine #health 1. Overstressed discs Almost everyone is familiar with back pain. A herniated disc quickly becomes a possibility – and surgery seems to be the solution. However, over 90% of cases can be treated conservatively: pain management, physical therapy, exercise, and patience. Surgery is only unavoidable in acute emergencies such as paralysis or loss of bladder/bowel control. However, surgery is often performed too quickly, even though MRI findings aren't necessarily the cause of the symptoms. And: Surgery can cause long-term effects such as scar tissue, irritation, or chronic pain. 2. Joint replacement planned too early Knee or hip replacements can produce great results. But only when all other options have been exhausted. Many patients undergo these procedures for moderate osteoarthritis without ever having tried targeted strength training, injections, or nutritional therapy. The risks range from infections to revision surgery. Surgery based solely on imaging findings should not be the norm – but rather the last step after comprehensive conservative treatment. 3. Liposuction as a promise of health? Liposuction sounds tempting. But fat is hormonally active and influences metabolism. Those who remove superficial fat deposits risk energy being stored in visceral fat instead – the truly dangerous fat surrounding the organs. Without changes to lifestyle, diet, and exercise, the results are usually short-term. Liposuction can be useful for lipedema, but here, too, thorough diagnostics and clear goals are essential. 4. Cartilage Therapies: High Hopes, Often Little Benefit Autologous blood injections, cartilage transplants, and the like raise high expectations. But with the onset of osteoarthritis, the benefits are often limited. The joint is a complex system – targeted therapies often fall short.
