Factors contributing to kidney stone formation and attacks of renal colic include a diet low in water and excessive consumption of dairy products. Calcium promotes the formation of insoluble deposits. Recurrent, untreated urinary tract infections and certain urinary tract diseases are also important. 👉 Severe pain occurs when kidney stones begin to move from the kidney along the ureter. This is a characteristic symptom of kidney stones. The pain begins in the lumbar region and radiates to the pelvis and thighs.
