Fluid Mechanics Lab # 5 - Impact of a Jet
The objective of this experiment is to investigate the reaction forces produced by the change in momentum of a fluid flow when a jet of water strikes a flat plate or a curved surface, and to compare the results from this experiment with the computed forces by applying the momentum equation. Please visit the following link to access the complete set of lab manuals, educational videos showing how student should run each experiment, and workbooks for organizing data collected in the lab and preparing result tables and charts.
