Mit Stretchlimo + Bogen im Cowboydorf | Road to Bruno 2/6

Playing used to be so simple: a stick became a sword, the old shed a knight's fortress. You never tired of trying to flip over on the swing set, and your knees were bloody from archaeological digs in the sandbox. As children, our imaginations knew no bounds, and adventures were always free—today we spend a fortune playing blacklight mini-golf and then pay for a saltwater spa treatment to soothe our sore muscles. Why is that? When did we forget how to recognize adventure in the little things, and do we, and especially families, have to pay for every happy memory? There are playgrounds everywhere, right? And they're free! Because they're always the same, too often unimaginative, and quickly become boring. Is there another way? We think so. Fynn and Brian embarked on an adventurous and crazy journey to Italy in a converted, vintage stretch limousine and two rooftop tents. Because that's where their role model lives, and someone who shows them how it's done: Bruno. In 1969, Bruno's wife opened a café in a beautiful poplar grove: AI PIOPPI (Italian for "At the Poplars"). But nobody came. So Bruno welded together a small carousel to attract more families. That didn't work, but Bruno persevered anyway. Fifty years later, that rickety carousel has grown into over 40 attractions—all powered by electricity—and just 20 years after the first weld, guests started coming—30,000 a year. On their way to Italy, Fynn and Brian want to learn from quarries, festival grounds, Italian junkyards and airfields, and above all, Europe's most unique playground, "AI PIOPPI," how to restore dignity to playgrounds. As always, everything goes wrong, but in the end, it all works out. From burning brakes in the Alps and hot air balloon rides to wakeboarding and wonderful encounters with—unusual—"playground owners." "Road to BRUNO" tells the exciting story of a journey to an unconventional role model and the search for answers. When did we forget how to be children? Why are playgrounds so often the same, equally boring, and unnecessarily expensive to build? The answers to these and many other questions are integral parts of this 6-part adventure documentary. -------- Props to our crew!
