SBS investigation revealed that forensic investigator A used Mr. Choi's autopsy photos in a lecture without the bereaved family's consent and failed to take any personal information protection measures, such as blurring the images. A reportedly explained, "I used the photos for a class to explain the autopsy procedure," adding, "Since I had obtained confidentiality pledges from the students, I judged it to be for educational purposes and did not apply a mosaic." The Gyeonggi Northern Provincial Police Agency pointed out that "body parts or the face should have been blurred to prevent the disclosure of personal information," and stated that they have issued a warning to Forensic Investigator A while considering an internal investigation. Choi's mother filed a complaint today (the 19th) against forensic investigator A on charges of violating the Personal Information Protection Act and defamation of the deceased.
