Ben Watt w/ Bernard Butler, 'Fever Dream' @ Rough Trade west, London 16.4.16

Just 10 days after their gig at the Lexington, and soon after coming back from Tokyo, Ben Watt & Bernard Butler played outside Rough Trade in Notting Hill for Record Store Day (saying 'store' instead of 'shop' feels weird even to me after all these years here now). The weather had turned colder and rain spit down occasionally but these two made the sun peek out again. Their set was short, and running late, but so charming. It was even a family day out for Bernard who brought his suns in for a bit of labour - moving gear and tuning his guitar! I also finally got the chance to talk to him, which was a lot easier in such a relaxed atmosphere. A lovely, lovely time.
