The charming British actor who left the popular show two years ago (at the height of his career) made a bold move, came to America to make movies and hasn't looked back. His latest film is, The Guest where he plays a soldier who introduces himself to the Peterson family, claiming to be a friend of their son who died in action. After the young man is welcomed into their home, a series of accidental deaths seem to be connected to his presence. The film also stars the lovely and talented Maika Monroe whose character knows somethings up as soon as she meets this handsome guest. I spoke with Dan and Maika at the Toronto International Film Festival about working on the film, and Dan addressed how scared he was when he decided to leave Downton forever.
