Inside the Alpaca Barn, 🇿🇦, Feeding Alpacas, Funny Moments & Soft Wool Crafts - 4K - (Part 3)

In this video, we’re back at Alpaca Loom in Paarl for another fun alpaca experience 🦙✨ This time, we joined the barn tour with our guide and learned more about these funny, fluffy animals up close. We saw different alpacas inside the barn, fed them by hand, learned why feeding them feels like a little tickle, and discovered more about their soft fleece and how it is used to make beautiful handmade crafts. One of the cutest parts was seeing their personalities. Some alpacas were calm and gentle, some were curious, and some looked like they were only interested in snack time. We also got to see alpaca wool, the weaving loom, and some of the handmade products made from their fibre. Alpaca wool is soft, warm, lightweight, and comes in many natural colours, from white and cream to brown, grey, and black. Alpacas are usually shorn once a year, and this helps keep them comfortable, especially in warmer weather. Their fleece is then cleaned, spun into yarn, and used for things like scarves, blankets, toys, and woven crafts.
