I invite you to watch my longest and most technical video yet. This video is about ETCS (European Train Control System). It's a modern and highly advanced traffic management system, present in many European countries. This is also the case in Poland, although the vast majority still rely on the old SHP system. In this video, we'll discuss what ETCS is and its underlying principles. We'll understand its levels and the steps required for rolling stock to properly interface with it. We'll also discuss the various ETCS operating modes and all trackside signaling (indicators and a single signal). Finally, we'll discuss and demonstrate the precise operation of the DMI screen, the dedicated interface for the ETCS on-board system.
