Come preparare i cambi di galoppo da terra

How can we teach a horse to change lead? There are many ways to do it, but in this video we'll show you how to prepare for a change of lead starting from the basics. By working from the ground, we can make our horse more athletic and ready to perform a change of direction first, followed by a change of direction with a change of lead. Many people aren't interested in advanced exercises like changes of lead because they believe they don't need them. And often, that's true! In other words, they're not essential for the activities that horse walkers often do. In fact, there are many riders who don't even know what a "quick" change of lead really means. Unfortunately, while it has no impact on the activities these people do with their horses, the process that leads us to perform this exercise is very healthy for the horse itself (if done well) because it improves its mental and physical balance, its impulsion, and its coordination. We want our horses to be athletes, but often we don't allow them to lead a healthy life aligned with their needs, much less those of an athlete, as we would like. The exercise we'll see in this week's video is once again an exercise derived from game #5, the circle game, and it takes us to a higher level of "dialogue" with our horse. A level where coordination, impulse, and harmony begin to align. Enjoy!
