Ep. 110: Part Two--Former SeaWorld Trainer John Hargrove And The Case of The Missing Orca Semen

It's part two of our conversation with John Hargrove, the heralded orca trainer who blew the whistle at SeaWorld, and then went on to turn his story into a New York Times best seller, "Beneath the Surface." In this podcast, Hargrove reveals how orca semen he collected may determine exactly how long SeaWorld stays in business. Hargrove begins by talking about how the documentary "Blackfish" changed his life. He talks about the frustration with how long SeaWorld has managed to stay operational. And he talks about how he deals with the guilt he still feels for the orcas who are still at SeaWorld. He says SeaWorld's future may be dependent on China and Russia, and the stash of orca semen he collected while leading the artificial insemination program at SeaWorld. To this day, Hargrove says, the semen remains unaccounted for.
