Demonstrating a Diode Clipping Circuit - Passive Distortion

So a couple days ago I heard about a mod that with the use of a couple diodes and NO POWER, would give a distortion or overdrive effect. Looking into it, I realized that even an ape-man like I could do the mod.The most basic version of the mod has two tiny, and ridiculously inexpensive diodes twisted together (head to tail) and soldered in place of the capacitor on your tone potentiometer. This is the one I went with for this video. As per the instructions, I purchased some 1N5818 Schottky diodes and a little shrink tubing from a local electronics parts supply and promptly made the easiest guitar electronics modification ever (or so it seems). The one thing I will probably change is adding and on/off switch for the effect. I am thinking of making a passive effects pedal using a few different, selectable variations and combinations of resistors. Then again, I may not... I got the basic idea from here: https://www.instructables.com/id/Pass...
