The Ice Hockey World Championship in Switzerland is just around the corner. And goaltending legend Renato Tosio is brimming with anticipation: "Switzerland is ready for something big!" The former hockey pro also looks back – on success, gratitude, and decisions that have sustained him to this day. At just 15 years old, Renato Tosio was already playing for the first team of EHC Chur. Later, with SC Bern, he achieved an almost unbelievable record: He played in all 655 league games – never missing a single one. "The driving force behind my perseverance is joy," he emphasizes. Joy makes him willing to push his limits and persevere. But lifestyle is also crucial. His faith accompanied him throughout his career as a source of peace and strength. Despite his success, Tosio remains grounded. A move to the NHL was briefly considered, but family came first. His wife has been by his side since his early years, and together they are raising three children: "I also owe my sporting success to my wife. It only works as a team." After his ice hockey career, his professional life took a circuitous route to the Domat/Ems Golf Club, where the trained architectural draftsman has been working as a manager for 13 years.
