Creature of the Sun (full edit) Vulture Mask

This piece is made from a single piece of 16ga 220 Bronze (technically a brass alloy due to its zinc content). The material has excellent formability and lovely color, 220 bronze is known for its ability to withstand outdoor exposure. I’ve been enjoying using it for sculptural pieces as it naturally colors differently than the 260 brass or pure copper. It has been sealed in renaissance wax to preserve the metal's natural color. Hand raised over shaping stakes and chased over pitch it required 13 annealing cycles to reach its complete form. Medium: 16ga 220 Bronze Size (inches): 10.5” x 6.5” x 4.5”
