The Pacific Ocean is starting to wake up with the golden days of Fall just around the corner and it was sweet to see surfers and water people all across Vancouver Island rejoice as the first stormy pulses of September swell made landfall. Though the peak of the forecasted swell was a bit overhyped and underwhelming (typical for this time of year) as the size receded, the sand bars at Cox Bay started to shape up, turning endless walls of whitewash closeouts into groomed walls, though still a bit all over the place. If you happened to be in the right place at the right time there was the occasional bomb set and even a few little caverns for a cover up or two if you brought your lucky charms out in your wetsuit.
