Our First EDM-900 Review
We installed this EDM-900 a while back and have flown with it many times now. I think as far as upgrades go this is a must have. Coupled with Cies fuel senders and a fuel flow transducer the EDM-909 is a window into our engine operation and everything else fuel related. We had a cylinder problem at 11k feet and the EDM made it easy to determine what cylinder and potentially what was happening. The EDM records every input so there is historical data to review if we ever have any questions or troubleshooting to do. Our install needs some cleaning up with the plastic surround panel. The old gauges were wide so the cut had to be bigger than the actual EDM. It was also a little curved at the edges of the windows and that added to the hack job. When we can find the material we will add some back to close up the gap. I didn’t show you in this video, but we are using Savvy engine trend monitoring for our downloads and it’s much easier to use than the program that comes with EDM. Savvy will review our data and make recommendations which has already been beneficial. This is an A+ product and we recommend the upgrade for older legacy aircraft with analog gauges. Thanks for watching.
