But I liked it even before its release, and I remember the first time I encountered it vividly. That day I was playing soccer. At school. Then I heard that "K-kun, who's two years older than me, apparently pulled Volberg Cross Dragon," and I thought, "This is serious!" Soccer was out of the question. I had to go see it. That's because there weren't any card shops in a place a second-grader could go to alone. The only way to see new cards in person was to ask someone who owned them. We just had to go and see them. So, my friend and I headed straight to the community center, but K wasn't there!!! What was K doing?! At this point, I was a little annoyed. He pulled a Volberg Cross Dragon, and yet he didn't come to the community center to show it off? What a boring guy!! ...Well, I admit he was grumpy last time when Ei-chan bragged about his Balholus, but not showing it off is annoying in its own way. This is why I hate rich people. Oh, sorry, I'm late in introducing K. K is the son of a dentist, two years older than me, and lives in the same neighborhood. His house is three stories tall! And apparently, it even has an elevator inside!! I'd never been invited inside his house, but since we lived in the same neighborhood, I'd sometimes play in the large parking lot of K Dental Clinic, and we'd even played games together at community events at the community center. That's about the extent of our relationship – just "people from the same neighborhood." However, if he wasn't at the children's center, there was nothing I could do. I guess I'd have to go to his house myself! So, when I arrived, I saw some guys two years older than me gathered in the K Dental Clinic parking lot, looking at cards. That's great, that's great. I took a peek, and there were four early Arkadi cards in a binder! ! ...Four cards!? Why not make a deck out of them? What an idiot! Thinking that, I was completely engrossed in the binder, forgetting all about Volberg, and kept saying, "Let's trade some Arkadi next time! Let's trade!"... What an idiot. While we were doing that, Toshiki, who had come to K Dental Clinic with me, asked, "Where's Volberg Cross Dragon?" K replied, "It's in my house."
