Mini-Series: Gucci 2015-2024: Ep 3 Alessandro Michele
We put the spotlight on the most modern times of Gucci by focusing on Alessandro Michele who was creative director from 2015-2023. He transformed Gucci into a logo brand, flashy at times but not only. His clothes could be smart, romantic, Victorian, 70s, 80s and 90s. He wasn't afraid to take risks and tell his stories as an archaeologist of fashion. Harry Styles and Jared Leto were two of his biggest celebrity supporters in Hollywood, of course. But all good things must come to an end when the sales start to fall so Kering Group brought on Sabato De Sarno. He transformed Gucci’s aesthetic to be more sleek but with precious details and quality tailoring. Mispronounced the surname, apologies to Italians sincerely
