A few days after participating in the press conference held by Issa Tchiroma Bakary's lawyers and denouncing what she considers pressure exerted against critical voices of the regime, the renowned entrepreneur claims to have been targeted by a dramatic debt recovery operation conducted by the Cameroon Debt Recovery Company (SRC): seizure of her offices, sealing of her business premises, intervention by law enforcement, and legal proceedings initiated against her personally. Rebecca Enonchong denounces a political operation intended to intimidate her. She claims she never received proof of the debt she is being sued for and believes that legal procedures were not followed. For its part, the SRC categorically rejects these accusations. In an official statement, it asserts that this debt, amounting to 7,434,263 FCFA, is old, originates from an account held at the Union Bank of Cameroon (UBC), and has no connection whatsoever with the entrepreneur's recent political stances. The organization claims to possess all the supporting documents and maintains that the procedure falls solely within the bounds of the law.
