Camping on a Remote Interior Lake in Voyageurs National Park

Experience a true remote adventure in Voyageurs National Park(VNP) as we camp, hike, and fish on Mukooda Lake — a quiet, non-motorized lake that can only be reached by portage. Unlike most of Voyageurs, canoes and motorboats aren’t allowed here. And, while usually I don't mind exploring via motorboat, today we are looking for a quiet camping adventure. So, we rented a rowboat from Pine Point Lodge (a Forest Service concessionaire) to explore this incredible wilderness lake. Our trip starts at Crane Lake, where we boated to the Forest Service dock and hiked the portage trail into Mukooda.
