Grand Theft Auto: Vice City (1.40 version) is a game developed by Rockstar North and published by Rockstar Games. It is the fourth main title in the GTA series and was released in October 2002 for the PlayStation 2, and in 2003 for Windows and Xbox. In 1986, Tommy Vercetti, a criminal and member of the Forelli Mafia family, is released from prison after fifteen years. His former boss, Sonny Forelli, promotes him to the position of capo and sends him to Vice City, Florida, to act as a buyer on the family's behalf in a series of illegal deals. His contact is corrupt lawyer Ken Rosenberg, who takes Tommy and his bodyguards to the city's docks for negotiations. However, they are ambushed, and only Tommy and Ken escape with their lives, losing all of Forelli's money and the drugs. Tommy informs Sonny of what happened, promising under death threats to recover the drugs and money and to kill whoever was responsible for the ambush, which was actually set up by Sonny himself to keep Tommy away.
