Restoring a faded Patagonia hat with Rit Dye

Dyeing a Faded Patagonia P6 LoPro Trucker Hat I wanted to share to share the results I had using Rit dye to restore my 4 year old Patagonia hat. While I wouldn’t say it looks brand new. I can say it now looks more like it did about a year or two after I purchased it in 2015. Basically, worn in. It was super easy using the dye. There are only a few steps to follow depending on the the fabric type. I used salt but if the fabric is silk or wool you might need to use vinegar. I did end up dyeing my hat three times, each time i allowed the dye to soak in longer than before. I had the best result after using really hot water and soaking it for over an hour before rinsing it off. Compared to what it looked it like before I can say I’m happy with the result.
