Comparing Hanhart and Longines Flyback Chronographs
In this video, I take a closer look at two modern flyback chronographs based on the Valjoux 7750 architecture: the Hanhart Red Lion MkII and the Longines Spirit Flyback Chronograph. On paper, these watches have a lot in common. Similar dimensions, similar functionality, the same underlying idea. Both also come from brands with real history in producing this type of instrument. But once you go beyond the spec sheet, the differences start to show. In this comparison, I focus on the elements that can be assessed in a more objective way: case finishing, bracelet, movement, parameters, usability, and how those differences translate into the overall experience. It’s also a good example of how pricing works in this segment. The gap between these two is significant, but the difference in quality is much more subtle. So the question is simple: what do you actually get for that extra money, and does it matter? Thanks for watching.
