In this vision, Ezekiel sees a storm and a wheel within a wheel, symbolizing the divine presence. God communicates with Ezekiel through similar visions and metaphors throughout the book. Ezekiel also prophesies the inevitability of God's judgment on the sin of the people of Israel. Through Ezekiel, God warns the nation of their misconduct and reminds them of His promise of restoration if they return to Him. The coming of the Messiah as a righteous king is also prophesied. In the second half of the book, Ezekiel speaks about the restoration of Israel and the renewal of the covenant between God and His people. God promises them a future filled with peace and stability and a renewed life under His loving guidance. The book of Ezekiel is an important work of prophetic literature. In this book, we see God's faithfulness and mercy, as well as His commitment to His chosen people, even when they commit grave sins. We also learn through Ezekiel that God's judgment is always present, but so are forgiveness and mercy. As Catholics, we are reminded through Ezekiel not only of God's judgment but also of His love and grace.
