Secret Sessions is a London based accelerator for emerging artists. We have live and acoustic events happening every month. 10,000 Hours is a dedication to the hardworking emerging artists in London and all around the world. 10,000 Hours Carrying instruments on the tube, losing lovers for your music, struggling for cash when your friends can afford to lose it. Rehearsing through the night, throwing the mic down in frustration, no holidays, no sights, only sounds and reverberations. Bleeding fingers, tinnitus, RSI; eardrums split like a teenager’s kit. Hours spent tweaking this one little phrase then the next day you erase it. Days behind closed doors ignoring the world and all its chores, before you finally hear that chord you’d spent the weekend searching for. Because music isn’t made of gold, and it’s definitely not made of money, it’s more like how the bees will conjure nectar into honey. Because music’s the space between your steps, between your loving eyes, the thing that brings a room to song, the song that makes us cry. Because music is fragile, music is moody, music’s a lifetime’s call to duty, promoting frequencies of beauty: from campfires and lyres to counterpoint choirs, concertos and light shows and Friday night discos. To masked balls in dance halls and trad jazz on bandstands and rock bands at marriages to grunge fans in garages, to profiles on MySpace, to concerts in r​eal​space. From idols on TV to grime beats and MCs - vibrations between atoms, gallatial patterns, bodies in motion, scales of devotion. Combining families and nations, defining time and generations, expressing everything that everyone has ever felt or done - just as the moon has always waltzed around the rising sun. Shared as freely as bread, compared as frequently as can be said, that it’s a moment and a message, that we’ll never ever lose it, so share them, share your songs and beats, forever, for the love of music.
