[Performance Description] This performance is based on Ebisu, who is Yaekotoshironushi-no-Mikoto, the first child of Okuninushi-no-Mikoto and the enshrined deity of Miho Shrine. A traveler, on his pilgrimage to Izumo Taisha, visits Miho Shrine and asks a shrine official about the shrine's history when Ebisu appears before him, catches a sea bream, and symbolizes longevity and good fortune. This is a fantastical and auspicious Kagura performance. However, it is rare for a traveler to appear in this performance these days.
