Once you dig into it you find beautiful passing notes; melodic approach; licks etc. And this song is not exception to that! Listen for instance at the beginning on Verse (bar 21): a beautiful melodic lick with a nice slide on the 9th tone of the chord (in Am being the note B). There’s also a very nice basslick in bar 37 and 38 from the Interlude. Nothing difficult, but just very nice! In Verse 3 there’s a variation on the melodic lick (bar 49) and what I especially like about this lick is that that the note A is not played on the third beat but just before that (4th 16th note on the second beat). It might seem a little detail, but I think is a really musical approach of where to put the notes of the bass in the song. This approach is repeated in the outro (bar 69). One of my favorite licks is in 4th Verse where the bass plays a melodic line with a syncopated high note D (on the third beat in bar 65). Enjoy!!
