2022 Toro Spliced Loop

Rigging up a fishing reel for use of wind-on leaders requires a loop on the end of your reel's braided line. If you are running hollowcore braid, this is easily accomplished and is 100% in terms of connection strength. In this video we demonstrate a couple ways to make your spliced loop. Start out with your needle insertion at 3-4 feet. Make your loop with a reverse latch needle, going into the braid towards it's end with loop inserted into latch needle. Come back out for a trap along the way towards the end of the braid. Then about 12-18 inches from the end of your braid come back out with the needle, taking the loop with you. Fold the braid back over itself, and with your tag end of braid use a loop needle to insert that into the braid right above where you exited the line and trap it once more and bury the rest of the tag line.
