The past few weeks have been all about real life behind the scenes… downsizing, reorganizing, and making big decisions about our rigs and future. In this video, we take you along as we try to sell Larry’s 5th wheel RV. I give you a full tour and walk through the selling process, but things didn’t go how we expected. The dealer and Larry couldn’t come to a deal, and we ended up walking away. At first, it felt like a setback… but honestly, it might’ve been a blessing in disguise. From there, we shift gears and start setting up our next chapter. We put the 5th wheel into storage, store the 4Runner, and head back to our raw desert property. Being back out there just hits different. No hookups, no frills, just land, quiet, and freedom. I check in on my 1995 Casita Deluxe (my former tiny home on wheels), and somehow it survived untouched… even with pack rats everywhere. Meanwhile, our Geo Tracker truck camper wasn’t so lucky. We discovered a furry little intruder living inside, which turns into a full-on pack rat battle. Traps, peanut butter, and a very interested dog named Pike all get involved. This video is a mix of real emotions and real life. Moving out of the Casita feels right, but it’s also bittersweet. That little trailer carried me through so much of this journey. Later, we slow things down and enjoy what this lifestyle is really about. We talk about how meaningful it is to have a place where friends can visit, and we share a recent visit from our friends at Destination Desert. We spent the night cooking chicken over the fire, making a healthier chicken Alfredo, and just relaxing under the desert sky. We end the video with a slower moment. I wasn’t feeling my best, so I took a walk around the property and found these beautiful red cactus blooms… one of those simple reminders of why we chose this life. This is off-grid living. It’s messy, unpredictable, and not always comfortable… but it’s real. If you’re into: off grid living, van life, rv life, truck camper living, tiny home on wheels, desert living, raw land development, nomad life, rv tour, rv selling process, boondocking, homesteading, minimalist living, simple living, travel couple life, van life couple, full time rv living, rv downsizing, living off the grid, desert property life, pack rat problems, camper restoration, and real life behind the scenes… you’re in the right place.
