We are guests of Snälltåget- the new brand for mainline passenger trains in Sweden operated by Veolia. Our train is the 09.20 from Malmö Central station (Malmo C) due into Stockholm at 14.31. A rake of classic Swedish IC cars is hauled by a modern TAURUS locomotive belonging to open access operator HectorRail. This section of the journey takes us from Malmö to Lund (one of the busiest sections of line on the network) and on to the important junction station at Hässleholm.
