We open with a discussion on the Cartier Santos Galbee vs. Panthere. For Christian, it's the Galbee without a doubt. The Galbee, though it has many characteristics that make it a Cartier sports watch, always feels a bit heavy on the sport and a bit light on the Cartier. That said, the Panthere feels like an even lighter version of that, and there should never be a light version of a hardcore sports watch. Next, we cover Christian's thoughts on the Tudor GMT. Ultimately, the demand for the Tudor GMT speaks volumes, and Tudor has really managed to position the watch as the more value-heavy Rolex GMT, especially releasing it in the same year that Rolex revived the steel Pepsi GMT. Now if only they'd made it in 39mm... Next up, we look at Christian's favorite Rolex Sports Model, something we don't often discuss here at T&H, but the easy answer really is the vintage GMT Master/GMT Master II. They're truly incredible pieces, of course well made, and icons in every way, with enough flare of their own to make them more interesting than your average vintage Rolex Submariner. Lastly, we take a look at which Vacheron Constantin to choose over its Patek Philippe counterpart. For Christian, the answer is the Vacheron Constantin Overseas Ultra Thin in White Gold over the Patek Philippe 5711. The Vacheron is infinitely more under the radar, and the customer experience dealing with Vacheron tends to be, from what we've heard, significantly more enjoyable than dealing with Patek.
