Setting A Committal Service

This is the full process of setting a Committal service, as well as cleaning a headstone for the family and meeting a fellow vault man. Over the years of creating Burial Vault and Headstone Cleaning Informational Videos, it has been my experience that in some areas of the US, families are asked or required to leave the cemetery before the interment takes place. It is my opinion that the interment process is extremely important for many families in the funeral process. For myself, I feel as though it offers a sense of closure and finality to the funeral experience that is necessary in the grieving and healing process. This video does not show the sealing and lowering process of a Wilbert Monticello being closed and lowered into the grave. Many families do witness this process. This process is identical to the sealing of a grave liner; even though the grave liner does not have a butyl adhesive seal, we display the vault and close it in the same manner. When the base is raised into the lid, the seal is dispersed and activated, giving the burial vault its air and water tight seal.
