【鉄道遺構を歩こう！】幻の大仏鉄道　2025年5月下旬

[Walk along the railway remains!] The Phantom Great Buddha Railway, Late May 2025 The weather forecast wasn't very good. I wanted to walk in a place where I could use an umbrella even if it rained. I'd always been curious about the "Phantom Great Buddha Railway," so I took a leisurely stroll around the railway remains. The Daibutsu Railway is the nickname for a 9.9km line that ran from Kamo to Nara over 100 years ago. It opened in April 1898 and closed in November 1907. It only operated for nine years, so few documents remain, leading to its nickname, "The Phantom Great Buddha Railway." I planned to walk as close to the tracks as possible from JR Kamo Station to JR Nara Station. There were quite a few guide signs around Kamo Station. An older man I met along the way gave me a detailed handmade map, which was very helpful. I arrived safely at Daibutsu Railway Memorial Park. A little before the station, they were baking Daibutsu Railway rice crackers, and I enjoyed some freshly baked ones at Daibutsu Railway Memorial Park. I was thinking of going to Mt. Wakakusa, but it was getting a little late, so I went to Todaiji Temple, saw some deer in Nara Park, and finished at JR Nara Station.
