Probability calculation video dedicated to the Binomial distribution, we'll look at its properties, mean, variance, and a simple gambling-related exercise! A random variable X is said to have a binomial distribution with parameters (n, p) if it counts the total number of successes obtained, denoted by k, in n independent trials, where p is the probability of success for the single experiment. An easy example to understand the binomial random variable is to flip a coin n times and count the number of heads (or tails) obtained at the end of all tosses, where the number of heads equals the number of successes obtained, each with probability p.
